Prostate Cancer Screenings

AHEC South Arkansas residents Drs. Philipp Narciso, Edwin Emborgo, Remel Buslig, and Solomon Ragotero worked with the Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation to provide prostate screenings on March 17th and 18th. Approximately 23 screenings were conducted in the Foundation’s Mobile Van in Magnolia, Stephens, Camden, and Bearden. The joint project was arranged by a Planning Committee consisting of Dr. Doug Bernard, Chief Resident, who took the lead by scheduling the residents; Dr. Marilyn Marshall, Residency Director; and Gen Abdella, AHEC SA Project/Program Manager, who worked closely with Marian Evans, Director of Programs for the Foundation, in coordinating the screening arrangements. This year 2600 Arkansas men will learn they have prostate cancer.  Chances of survival with prostate cancer are 90% or higher with early diagnosis and treatment.

Drs. Edwin Emborgo, Philipp Narciso, and Remel Buslig worked with the Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation in screening for prostate cancer. Dr. Solomon Ragotero also performed screenings.
